“Medical kidnappings” are becoming increasingly concerning throughout the country.  When parents disagree with hospitals and want second opinions, they are sometimes accused of medical abuse, medical neglect, or doctor shopping.  The hospitals then call in the state to take custody of the children from the parents.  Court systems routinely rubber-stamp the hospital’s actions.  The Courts usually impose gag orders that keep the parents quiet in fear of jail time if they speak out.

KMOX (CBS) St Louis will be airing several stories on MEDICAL KIDNAPPINGS during the week of January 12-16, 2015. When I was interviewed, I alerted the producer to the story of Isaiah Rider.  Isaiah is a Missouri teen whose custody was removed from his mother.  His story is featured in the first two installments.  My interview was aired as the third installment.  Links are posted below.

Please read Chapter 13 of Childhood Interrupted before you take your child to the hospital.  If you think  you think a visit to the emergency room may be in your future, become familiar in advance.  I explain the system, and the steps you might take to help stay safe.
