Ms. Maloney joined the New England PANS/PANDAS Association for a Facebook live event in early March. She discussed her new book and responded to questions. PANS is the acronym for Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome. PANDAS is the acronym for Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Association with Strep. The emphasis was on medically complex children and the unique vulnerability of their parents to false allegations of Medical Child Abuse and Munchausen by Proxy.
