The concept of accountability is beginning to catch up with child abuse pediatricians. Barbara Knox, MD who was forced to leave Wisconsin, then forced to leave Alaska, landed on her feet in Orlando at the the University of Florida. But parents she falsely accused of abuse are pursuing litigation against her. One hopes they have also filed claims against her license. Although the licensing boards rarely act on anything other than sexual assault or prescription drugs, it will cause her to defend there as well. In addition, the Orlando Sentinel published a “what were you thinking” opinion article about her hiring that was written by Scott Maxwell.
